IMO there was never really a (decent) chance of Russia beating Canada, they keep mentioning that Bobrovsky could steal the game because he’s been playing well – Price has better stats throughout the tournament than he does. The Russian forwards are great – But not as deep as the Canadian forwards, and nowhere near the two-way game. Russian defense was weak. It seemed to me like Emelin was one of if not their best defenseman for much of the tournament, along with Orlov, and that really shouldn’t be the case. Zaitsev was outmatched repeatedly when facing top lines. Of course there’s the slight chance for a flukey game, but there’s too many superstars on team Canada for one of them not to step up.
